The Art of Preserved Flowers

This was a meaningful moment in my life, when I chose to forge a new professional path, after fourteen years working as an architect in Jerusalem firms, following my architecture studies at Bezalel Academy. During that time I had the opportunity to take part in unique and meaningful projects. They remain, to this day, a source of inspiration and creation.
My name is Amiyah Michaeli-Menashe, owner of the One of One studio, where I create singular works of art from dried flowers. I collect them in the Jerusalem Hills, the area where I live, and dry them through a traditional technique. Behind the practice of drying flowers, a personal story has unfolded. A story about a time of pause and contemplation.

"The craft of plant preservation has a history, a lexicon, and rich, fascinating sources of knowledge. In a time when our country is caught in conflict and hardship, Amiyah chooses to contemplate the original beauty of nature here — and to do something with it."
